The Logo
The initial requirement was to create a simple logo using clean, basic shapes - one that would be readable, easily recognizable, and functional across different scales, from small icons to large signage. From this simplicity, the core idea emerged: combining the shape of a bear’s paw with coffee beans. This concept gave birth to a visual language that directly reflects the brand’s identity - both “bear” and “coffee” – in one clear and distinctive symbol.
Coffee Bear
A neighborhood café with a warm, homely character, aiming to combine the experience of high-quality coffee with a sense of closeness and comfort. The bear symbolizes strength and confidence on one hand, and softness and embrace on the other - just like the experience the place has to offer.
The Coffee Bear digital menu was designed to reflect the cafe's warm and homely character, while maintaining a clean, clear, and user friendly interface. The visual language is built on natural earthy tones that convey calm and comfort, alongside small illustrative elements (like the bear paw prints) that add a personal and welcoming touch. The typographic structure is focused and easy to navigate, with clearly defined categories that allow customers to quickly find their favorite drinks. The combination of legible fonts, subtle icons, and a cozy color palette creates a pleasant user experience that mirrors the café itself - blending quality, simplicity, and a true sense of home.
The logo is composed of only five basic elements, forming a bear’s paw where each toe resembles a coffee bean. Its geometric simplicity makes it approachable and memorable, while the use of dark brown immediately ties it to the world of coffee. The rounded, friendly typography reinforces the warm and homely character of the café.
The graphic language extends this idea into a clean and minimal visual system that is both bold and inviting. Large typographic statements, combined with simple layouts and earthy tones, create strong visibility while keeping the atmosphere warm and approachable. Just like in the poster, the use of oversized type alongside the paw-and-bean symbol ensures instant recognition and builds a consistent, memorable brand presence.
